Engineering position utilizing engineering education and experience to design and release body structures. This D&R position focusses on design, development, release, and part validation with emphasis on Underbody structures.**Requirements**:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent engineering (ie. Aerospace)1 + years in an Engineering function such as Body structure, Interior, Systems Engineering, or Exterior OrnamentationExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenBasic understanding of GPDS and release processExperience with Ford software: Catia, Digital Buck, AIMS, WERS, FEDECritical thinking skills to connect analytical tools with physical hardware and vehicle attribute performance.Ability to support limited travel - Some travel will be required to assembly plants and build sites for launch programs, and supplier reviews.**Desired**:Experience with interfacing commodities (Frame /Battery structure, Interior Trim, Seat, Electrical, Exterior Ornamentation, etc.)Knowledge of Sheet Metal Parts, Mix Metal (Aluminum, steel, ) manufacturing processes, Mix metal joining, Rivet joining process.Design and Release experience, Preliminary Knowledge of CAE analytical process**Responsibilities**:- Lead the design and delivery of Under Body sheet metal systems on vehicle programs.- Deliver components and assemblies with quality that meet function, cost, weight, and timing requirements.- Develop & maintain quality documents DFMEA, SCCAF, P-diagram etc.- Collaborate with Studio, Design Technical Office, functional engineers (Frame, Battery structure, Interior, exterior Ornamentation., Electrical etc.), CAD teams, Internal & External suppliers and Team of 4.- Lead and manage suppliers to deliver program targets.- Support current product production and quality efforts.- Lead durability test failure resolution and counter measures implementation- Opportunity to lead the Underbody Body sheet metal deliverables on the prototype builds of upcoming products at the pilot plant/assembly plant.
