**About CIU****About THE POSITION**The Bursar interfaces with the management team to provide academic records and administrative support. The Bursar provides support for accurately maintaining and analyzing the accounting records for students, achieving the lowest accounts receivable possible, within the guidelines, policies, and common goals of the institution.**Responsibilities**:**Student Accounts**- Maintain student ledger accounts to ensure they are accurate, current, and compliant with institutional guidelines- Monitor expected cash flow from all fund sources and ensure timely payment of outstanding receivables- Coordinate outreach to students to ensure that they are informed of their payments and initiate corrective actions for past due accounts- Assess appropriate fees on student accounts in accordance with the university fee schedule- Respond to account inquiries and provide assistance to students- Maintain student payment schedules to ensure prompt collection of receivables- Assist the Director of Finance as assigned to support institutional finance objectives- Be professional, congenial, cooperative, and promote the values and goals of the university- Be familiar with and abide by the university catalog and employee handbook**STUDENT ENROLLMENT**- Experience providing administrative support for (2) two or more members of a management team or organization.- Provides administrative support on highly technical and/or specialized projects.- Facilitates the handling of time-sensitive requests and confidential documents.- Verifies accuracy and completeness of critical documents- Prepare memos, letters, and other correspondence using computers, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software.- Facilitate the admissions process and provide program support for programs with enhanced admissions processes.- Perform other duties as assigned**Minimum Requirements**- Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field from an accredited institution is preferred; - 3 years of related experience in higher education is desirable.**Education**:- Bachelor's (required)**Experience**:- higher education: 1 year (required)
