100% remote job Business Development Executive | IMPULSE Data & AI – Inteligencia Artificial Aplicada (IAA) | Mexico Business Development Specialist (English and Spanish) Company Overview: Impulse Data & AI is a collaboration with The Toronto Machine Learning Society (TMLS) and MLOps World designed to help unite and support the Impulse Data & AI ecosystem. With an exploratory approach, our initiatives address the unique needs of the Impulse community of more than 2,000 AI researchers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs. Intent on empowering its members and driving AI research and business applications on a global stage, Impulse Data & AI is reimagining what it means to have a connected community. Likewise, offering support, growth, inclusion for all members and unique collaborations between various academic and industrial communities. As we continue to expand our reach, we are seeking a talented and motivated Business Development Specialist to join our team. Position Overview: As a Business Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our conferences. You will be responsible for selling tickets and securing sponsorships while actively seeking out leads and cultivating relationships with strategic partners. To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional communication skills, both in English and Spanish, along with a proven track record of successfully closing deals and building strong professional relationships. Moreover, your keen interest and passion for technology, particularly machine learning, MLOps, Gen AI and the AI ecosystem. Additionally, we highly value your enthusiasm for building communities and promoting AI initiatives within the LATAM region. Key Responsibilities: Ticket and Sponsorship Sales: Drive revenue generation by actively selling conference tickets to individuals and groups, as well as securing sponsorships from relevant companies and organizations. Lead Generation: Identify and target potential attendees, sponsors, and partners through thorough market research, online searches, networking events, and industry forums. Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with existing and potential sponsors, partners, and conference attendees to foster long-term collaborations and partnerships. Outreach and Communication: Conduct effective outreach campaigns through various channels, including email, phone calls, social media, and in-person meetings, to engage prospects and convey the value of our conferences. Negotiation and Deal Closure: Utilize your persuasive abilities to negotiate terms and close deals with sponsors, partners, and attendees, ensuring mutual benefits and alignment with company goals. Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral, presentations, and promotional materials that effectively communicate the conference's value proposition. Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, leads, and deal status in CRM systems. Provide regular reports and updates to the management team. Language Proficiency: Leverage your strong command of both English and Spanish languages to communicate effectively with diverse prospects and partners, both in written and verbal communication. Interest in Technology: Apply your interest in machine learning, data science, and familiarity with the AI ecosystem to engage with tech-savvy prospects, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to discussions around relevant conference topics. Community Building: Harness your passion for building communities to foster relationships within the AI and technology ecosystem, particularly in the LATAM region, by networking with key stakeholders, attending relevant events, and supporting initiatives that promote AI advancements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). Proven track record of at least 5 in business development, sales, or sponsorship roles, preferably within the events or conference industry or AI-related company. Strong mastery of the English and Spanish languages, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful business relationships and close deals. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets. Proficiency in using LinkedIn. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Familiarity with start-up ecosystem in LATAM and an understanding of conference dynamics is a plus. Keen interest in machine learning, data science, and familiarity with the AI ecosystem. Passion for building communities and promoting AI initiatives, especially within the LATAM region.
