.Business Intelligence Developer (Remote)The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the Business Intelligence Team to ensure that high standards for data quality are achieved for the solutions that are developed to assist in strengthening Carhartt's competitive advantage. The QA Engineer will work on a dynamic and exciting team to create quality standards and processes for the Data Team while also collaborating with enterprise quality processes and automation.Representative ResponsibilitiesAuthor SQL queries to validate semantic dataset views against source data.Define methods to confirm that Production reporting matches BIEDW.Define methods and practices for confirming that content is tested for porting and upgrades.Create project plans for porting and upgrades.Ensure quality and data integrity across the entire reporting domain and perform proper integration testing before introducing reports to the production environment.Confirm that dataset certification is consistent with current BIE standards.Confirm that production-ready content meets the business-defined requirements.Regular use of Power BI for testing accuracy of data against source systems.Level one triage of issues that may require debugging in Power BI or SQL.Verification of the consistency of glossary terms throughout Power BI content.Collaborate with the entire BI team to manage the standards BI adheres to in building cohesive and consistent deliverables.Work with the Enterprise Quality team to develop an enterprise strategy for automated testing.Be familiar with BIE maintenance processes to identify, investigate, and resolve level 1 issues.Develop/update Power BI reports when required.Use tools like Power Query to perform data profiling operations to ensure data quality.Participate in the BI team's agile process writing stories, managing tasks, and committing to the completion of assigned deliverables.Create stories in ADO as needed in cooperation with Scrum Masters.Entry RequirementsBachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent years of experience required.3+ years with Microsoft Power BI or equivalent experience required.Beginner to intermediate knowledge of DAX.Experience using Paginated Report Builder.1+ years' experience using Power Query.Knowledge of Data Modelling strategies and the key components of building a model in Power BI.Understanding of UI/UX concepts involved in building dashboards and reporting in Power BI.Strong desire to investigate and solve data issues.Experience working with agile management tools such as ADO.Proficient knowledge of database development tools including Microsoft SQL Server environment is required.Demonstrated knowledge in the use of business tools, as related to work tasks (Word, Visio, Net Meeting, Power Point, Excel, MS Project, etc.).Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and retail partners
