**Responsabilities**:
*Create and negotiate various contracts with selected suppliers while exhibiting negotiating skills.
*Drive continuous improvement and supplier development in respect to commodity differentiation, quality, service and cost
*Interface with colleagues and Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain regarding vendor shortages, performance, cost savings, and cost increases
*Enter and maintain quotes and lead times and orders in SAP
*Manage inventory levels for material groups; execute on inventory reduction opportunities
*Manage MRP exceptions in SAP and with suppliers daily
*Manage supplier relationships including monitoring supplier capacity, relationship, quality, and cost
Manage impact of changing product demand resulting from engineering changes and new product development
*Support product development and concurrent engineering activities.
*Perform follow-up function to ensure delivery and quality compliance
Institute supplier quality management or scorecard practices ensuring optimal on-time delivery, cost and quality while meeting specification requirements (for both current products and new products)
*Ensure suppliers are aligned with our business objectives by managing supplier relationships as strategic partnerships through effective supplier data driven metrics and quarterly business review meetings
*Actively participate in material cost reduction activities
*Work with planning by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing purchasing demand/supply data and trends
*Analyze and interpret commodity spend data within the supply chain area
*Research the commodity market to understand business drivers, relevant technology trends and innovations (process and product)
**Requirements**:
*Focus on negotiation skills with the ability to leverage opportunities with the suppliers
*Bachelor's degree preferred.
*Purchasing and sourcing experience preferred in electronics, cables/wires, chemicals, and resins and other technical materials
*Freight/Logistics experience a plus
*Working knowledge of procurement and MRP principles, techniques and policies preferred
*General knowledge of Manufacturing processes, drawings and specifications preferred
*Working knowledge of Consignment, JIT, and VMI preferred
*Demonstration of sound communications skills
*Must be able to read, write, and create contracts (80%+ English fluency)
*Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and SAP (or equivalent)
