**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:- The Buyer is responsible for Sourcing, negotiating and buying of goods, materials and services to meet the project, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.- Should be responsible for basic purchasing of materials and services at the lowest cost to MDR using procurement processes that maintain consistency with schedule requirements.- Perform bid evaluations and issue purchase orders for materials and services.- Ensure all purchase orders are complete and reference all necessary conditions and deliverables, including, signatures, marking, packaging, payment, documentation, and shipment details.- Identify problems and discrepancies that may occur and assist in implementing corrective action.- Ensure work is being coordinated between the other departments, offices, fabrication and construction to meet project requirements.
**Essential Qualifications and Education**:- 3 - 5 years of procurement experience.- Works independently with mínimal guidance.- Able to determine own work priorities.- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.- Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests.- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline.- Monitors and controls costs within own work.- Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspectiveon existing solutions.- Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.- Promotes teamwork; coaches and guides others.- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related fields is preferred.- Knowledge of SPMAT or Oracle preferred.
