- The Buyer will be responsible for the evaluation of suppliers & bids; negotiate pricing and terms & conditions for the purchase of goods and services. This position will support multiple sites with a focus on identifying best value suppliers (equipment and services) for the bidding process. This position will manage moderately complex aspects of a project. The work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. This position will have a strong focus on internal customer service._
**Funciones y responsabilidades esenciales**
- Analyze technical data and specifications to determine the equipment and contracted services needed for site related projects
- Conduct searches for new suppliers of goods and services, evaluate their capabilities, assess risk and qualify as necessary
- Evaluate equipment suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements for equipment
- Identifies cost savings opportunities and assists in achieving yearly cost reduction targets set by the Sr CAPEX & Purchasing Manager
- Negotiate prices and draft terms and conditions of purchase
- Reviews requests for assigned materials, parts and/or services and verifies specifications with requester as necessary
- Attend domestic and international trade shows to view and collaborate with senior management on new product listings and pulse of the industry
- Devise, implement and oversee procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets
- Administer supplier and vendor contracts
- Ensure that purchases comply with commercial, legal and contractual obligations
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding the nature and function of purchased equipment
- Liason between logistics and Finance to ensure end to end follow up of purchase, delivery and payment
- Develop process of OEM selection and standardization
**Requerimientos físicos**
Office work is typically 80% and field work at plant sites is 20%. Minimal physical work
**Competencias básicas**
**Habilidades duras**
- BS degree in business or engineering and 3 to 5 years of MRO experience; contractor and services purchasing experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with high-level verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, EAM etc.
- Ablity to analyze technical documents and specifications and understand critical requirements
- Experience in food / confeccionary manufacturing preferred
- Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM) preferred
- International purchasing experience is a plus
- SQF/HACCP

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per month
