Eaton's ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking a Buyer.
**What you'll do**:
**PRIMARY FUNCTION**
Analyze, negotiate, and execute the acquisition of raw material for the company assuring timely, cost effective and quality delivery from supply base as well as develop and manage supply base to support manufacturing and on-time delivery.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Follows the established and implemented programs for supplying assigned commodities within cost and quality requirements according to the business needs.
- Ensures supplier performance according to contract terms and addresses any performance issues with support of supplier development team, with support of SCM (Supply Chain Manager)
- Initiates and implements process improvement activities in all assigned task areas.
- Guides and fill-up reports of cost out projects and administers cost out programs including schedule development to insure timely delivery of results.
- Participates in VA/VE projects to reduce material costs.
- Works closely with the Senior Buyer to make teamwork and follow up on activities to cover all material procurement needs and expediting process.
- Ensures that components and supplier's data are kept up to date within the ERP for his/her own supplier base.
- Develops and maintains close and professional relationship with vendors.
- Develops and leads annual supplier review process to drive quality actions across cross-functional team to improve supplier quality.
- Analyzes and manages aggregate inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets and goals.
- He/she is responsible for reporting performance metrics related to imported EATON purchases.
- Monitors the activities of his/her area focused on meeting the metric as DOH, OTP, SFR, In-Transit inventory, etc.
- Participates in daily production meetings and meet the needs of missing materials purchases that occur.
- Generates high plans and programs for new suppliers, evaluates and develops suppliers; makes continuous improvement activities proposing KAIZEN programs.
- Ensures planning parameters are maintained to improve supplier OTD, Customer OTD and minimize inventory levels.
**Qualifications**:
**SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**
**BASIC QUALIFICATION**
- BS Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering.
- 2-3 years of purchasing and or production control experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- English 60%.
- Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation logics.
- Work in cross functional team and international environment.
- AS400, MAPICS, ERP, Purchasing experience and/or planning.
- Excel Advanced level required
