.This role is responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of our customers and the business.- Set up, execution and maintenance of ordering parameters and MRP data.- Ensure adherence to price and lead time established by contract.- Monitor supplier delivery performance, days on hand and related quality issues.- Identify suppliers that should be part of development programs and actively participate in those key projects- Resolve supplier & data issues, (i.E. Price discrepancies, invoices discrepancies, receiving issues).- Work with suppliers overseas and different cultural backgrounds to meet the supply needs of our business- Train and provide leadership to new associates- Represent the group in relevant meetings and act as a liaison- Manage supplier held inventory programs- Monitor inventory levels to avoid potential excess, obsolescence and shortages.- Oversee Inventory policy through ABCD classification and use of proper planning parameters.- Adjust forecasts and planning parameters as required including safety stocks, reorder points, minimum orders etc. in adherence with Vertiv guidelines- Participate in Cost savings efforts (i.E. Freight, Packaging, Price).- Expedite P.O.'s and confirm delivery.- Print, review & release purchase requisitions.- Participate in daily production and planning meetings.- Secure Corrective actions and Execute RMA process when applicable.- Coordinate Engineering changes with suppliers, Material Planning and Engineering for purchased parts.- Daily coordination of information between production, purchasing and shipping.- Provides availability, pricing, shipping information- Generates daily, weekly, monthly metric reports- Develop in-depth knowledge on parts/commodities managed to aid in expedites and suggest part deviations to resolve shortages and mitigate high risk situations- Arrange domestic and international expedited shipments in collaboration with Logistics team.- On board new suppliers by providing training on Vertiv systems and processes- Recommend adjustments to planning bills, forecasting and adjust as approved- Management of higher dollar, longer lead-time, higher risk parts and suppliers- Analyze and help manage supplier held inventories including E&O with a focus on limiting exposure.- Make recommendation on E&O reserves to be held by Vertiv**QUALIFICATIONS**:**Minimum Qualifications**:(education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).- BS is business administration, or related field.- At least 2 years of experience in a materials management, purchasing or material planning function.**Preferred Qualifications**:- APICS or CPM certification- Bilingual- Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment- Very proficient in spreadsheets, MS Office.- Hands on experience with calculating safety stocks, reorder points (MIN/MAX) and forecasting and inventory turns
