Resumen: The buyer-planner is responsible for managing a set of commodities to meet business objectives using world class supply chain management principles and practices. These business objectives include optimizing inventory, customer and supplier on-time delivery performance, material quality, material productivity and customer satisfaction. **Responsabilidades**:**Mains Responsibilities**:1. Must also complete requirements for the buyer/planner III.2. Performs planning and procurement of selected critical commodities. Partners with engineering and supply management to drive actions to achieve and exceed plant material productivity targets.3. Monitors overall planning activities and gives direction and training to lower classified buyer/planners as required.4. Increase departmental productivity/efficiency by developing new report initiatives/ purchasing procedures. Processes and techniques. Establishes and maintains departmental key performance indicators.5. Develop aggregate inventory, quality and productivity forecasts and reconciliations to support department/ plant objectives.6. Contributes to the implementation of new systems. Monitors information from various systems to verify accuracy prior to distribution to junior planners.7. Performs as acting materials managers as needed. Delivers high-level presentations of information to internal customers at all levels of the organization. Takes a lead role in collaboration with Supply Management in the selection of suppliers.**REQUIREMENTS**:- 5-10 years' experience.- Competency in keyboarding and use of computer database systems required.- Good interpersonal and problems solving skills are a must.- Bachelor's Degree preferred.- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers required.- Must have knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.- Ability to read blueprints required.- One to three years of related materials/planning/purchasing experience preferred.- Experience with capacity planning and purchasing negotiation preferred.- Strong computer skills, Microsoft program skills preferred.- Certification through APICS and/or NAPM preferred.- Schedule availability.- Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong problem-solving communication and interpersonal skills.- Excellent negotiation skills.- The Category Management experience for the following commodities and knowledge of Mexico supplier base is highly desired: electronic components, printed circuit boards, metal fabrication, fasteners, raw material (metals), injection molding parts.- Highly organized, detail-oriented, demonstrated ability to multi-task, with strong follow up skills.
