OBJECTIVES The successful candidate will have previous buying experience in an automotive or manufacturing company. This individual will report directly to the Head of Value Management for North America and have primary responsibility for identifying cost reduction opportunities (VA/VE) as well as identifying localization projects by collaborating with other functions and other regions included but not limited to: Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES Focus on identifying and developing cost savings projects driven by Resourcing and Technical design changes that result in cost improvement on current products design and modification.Coordinate with Commodity any Supplier meetings to drive material cost reduction ideas.Use should cost analysis, raw material knowledge, part weight, cost breakdown and benchmark to develop saving for localizing products or components.Coordinate Workshops and/or Tandem-calls with engineering, quality and commodity to generate Cost savings ideas.Work and Collaborate with suppliers, Commodity, Supplier Quality, Engineering and PjM through Project milestones.Continuously review cost reduction actuals vs target.Prepare and present business case approval reviews.Maintain a mindset of Continuous Improvement and Innovation / Anticipation.Executing localization / Cost Reduction projects.PROFILE REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate should ideally meet the following main criteria:
Minimum of 2 years of total experience and specific experience purchasing components in the manufacturing Automotive industry.Experience with APQP and/or project management tools and methods.A bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or engineering.A high level of written and oral communications skills.Contract and pricing negotiations.Analytical and problem solving skills.Strong computer skills, including SAP/ERP, Google platforms, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.High level of motivation and ability to manage several tasks at once.Working knowledge in blueprint reading, statistics, PPAP documentation, product costing, and specifications.English Advanced required.What We Offer Global work environment.Growth opportunities.Major Medical Expenses Insurance.Competitive wages.Be part of our ZF team as Buyer-Program and apply now!
