The Injection Mold CAD Specialist provides support for many aspects of new part production from quote through release of part to production. The Injection Mold CAD Specialist will support the early review of new plastic parts from the customer to full review of mold designs until all specifications are met to approve the mold maker to begin machining the new mold.Primary Duties:- Review and analyze plastic parts for moldability, including gate locations, cavity layout (if multi-cavity) or family mold layout.- Use Mold Flow software to assist in KS tool design process.- Translate and divide 3D mold designs into A and B halves for review.- Modify existing 3D CAD models submitted by customers to repair corrupt geometry or to illustrate recommended changes to the part.- Review mold design layout with the EPM, Senior Mold Designer, and Program Management Group to ensure mold will be built to KS specifications.- Create CAD summaries to help Program Management group kickoff quoting process.- Quick response, daily communications with off-shore mold suppliers in quoting, mold building, mold tuning, and ECO phases of a project.- Maintenance and storage of 3D data per company specifications.- Maintain and store other mold data in company ERP system.- Participate in the milestone meetings as molds/parts are brought into production.- Bring cost reduction ideas to management's attention.- Drive annual date code project.- Provide support for Production on tooling and fixtures.- Provide support for the Tool Room on engineering changes.- Support Program Management and Operations with sustaining engineering projects.- Miscellaneous jobs and duties as requested.Experiência y requisitos**Skills**:- Strong CAD ability, including advance 3D modeling and working with direct modeling techniques for "dumb" models.- Be able to quickly make 2D drawings that will support the tool room or provide 2D data to vendors.- Must be a team player.- Must have good customer service skills and be able to effectively interact with all departments.- Must have demonstrable oral and written communication skills.- Must detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.- Must be a self-motivator and proactive.Qualifications:- Minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD using SolidWorks or Fusion 360 to design mold components, make cavities and core designs and EDM electrodes.- Advanced English (Strong verbal and written skills required)- Proficient in MS Office- Understand the concepts for plastic part design for molding.- Background in the injection mold making or molding environment.- Experience with CAM software.- Some programing experience for CNC- Experience with manual machine tools and shop practices.- Can use calipers, micrometers, and other shop metrology tools.Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completoSalario: $1.00 - $2.00 al mesHorario:- Lunes a viernes- Turno matutinoLugar de trabajo: Empleo presencial
