**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**: As a Cargo Superintendent for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, you will have responsibility for quality cargo handling, damage prevention and supervision of vessel and terminal operations.
A team player who can solicit and share knowledge and competence in a constructive manner. Focus on efficient processes and continuous operational improvement. Ensure subcontractors operate according to our requirements. Ensure that both internal and external customers requirements are met.
Facilitate and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Assist local / regional departments through effective verbal and written communication on a vessel-by-vessel basis to ensure that all cargo is discharged and loaded per guidelines set forth by carrier and by our customers.
Comply with all of our procedures relating to reporting and distribution of information before, during and after vessel operations.
Follow and adhere to ISO handling procedural requirements. Accountable to ensure budgetary requirements are met. Assist in proper positioning of our equipment in cooperation with vessel planning within scope of responsibility.
Ensure the safety of all employees in accordance with our safety program. Actively engage and contribute to the Natural Work Groups and continuous improvement through actionable items.
**Job Requirements**:
**Qualifications**: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of vessel and terminal operations including but not limited to labor contracts, safety regulations and environmental compliance. Stevedore experience and/or management of ILA labor.
Technical knowledge related to vessel specifications. Maritime/College degree preferred, but not required. Team player with strong decision making and analytical skills. Focus on leadership and use of talent to improve the way we work and produce value. IT/Computer Competence. Assist and participate in other South Atlantic port operations as needed.
