About Lumen

The Role

Under regular supervision, responsible for managing a set of vendors and associated spend for company's primary off-net, leased transport providers.
Specifically, requires knowledge of and ability to work closely with both ILEC's and CLECs.
Assists with tariff review and communication, circuit based term management, relationship development, creation and execution of vendor strategy, contract negotiations to reduce cost and enhance product offerings, management of contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance, communication of vendor strategy and capabilities to internal stakeholders, and facilitation of the vendor performance management process and direction of improvement plans.
Some knowledge of Interconnection Agreements and UNE based products is preferred.
The Main Responsibilities

Proficient communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to build strong cross-departmental business relationships.
Operational experience in telecommunications (Provisioning, Planning, Marketing, Project Management, Account Management or Contract Management).
Some experience in interpreting terms and conditions of purchase agreements and LEC tariffs, and use that knowledge to solve problems and create opportunities.
Some experience in negotiation and leadership skills.
Experience in managing and prioritize multiple projects and issues at the same time.
Understanding of local access cost elements.
Customer service focus.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

Typical number of years' experience: 1 + years

Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree Fields of Study: Business, Finance, Telecommunications Additional Specialized Coursework: MBA preferred, Operations Science Preferred, Access and Excel Required knowledge and skills

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Field Of Study: Legal, Business, Finance, or Telecommunications

Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation.
Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
