.Position DescriptionPosition Title: DealerConducts gaming table games such as Blackjack, Dice, Roulette, Let It Ride, orCaribbean Stud Poker and other related table games in the shipboard Casino byperforming the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAll duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with RoyalCaribbean International's The Royal Way, SQM Policies and Procedures, USPHguidelines, environmental, and safety policies. Each shipboard employee may berequired to perform all functions in various venues throughout the ship.In accordance with Royal Caribbean International's philosophy of Anchored inExcellence, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteousmanner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions guests orfellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact andcrew areas.1. Conducts all Casino table games according to established guidelinesand procedures.2. Exchanges paper currency for playing chips or tokens andannounces the exchanges.3. Ensures that wagers are placed before table gaming proceeds, suchas cards are dealt, roulette wheel is spun, or dice are tossed.4. Accurately maintains the handling of cards, dice, chips, money andother gaming equipment at an appropriate rate to maintain theproper pace of the game.5. Informs players of the rules and regulations as the game progresses.6. Announces all winning hands, numbers or colors to players.Computes payable odds to pay winning bets. Pays winning bets andcollects losing bets.7. Observes the players around the table in order to recognize playingstyle.8. Maintains an awareness of the guests to avoid possible securityrisks. Notifies management and/or security of suspicious behavior.Settles player disputes and refers escalated guest complaints tomanagement personnel.9. Participates in casino cash and coin counts as assigned by casinomanagement.10. Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work- related activities as required.11. Ensures that high roller guests are identified and the Supervisornotified.12. Performs related duties as required. Shipboardemployees will be required to perform any other job-related dutiesassigned by their supervisor or management.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum hiring, language and physical requirements to perform the job.Hiring Requirements:- Proof of completion of Gaming Board and/or Commission approved dealerschool or international equivalency.- Two years dealer experience conducting Blackjack, Dice, American Roulette,Caribbean Stud Poker and various other casino games.- Ability to rapidly discern the numbers on dice, cards, wheels, etc. anddetermine the outcome of the game.- Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboardemployees to resolve problems
