Includes analysis of purchasing needs, including analysis of costs and performance. Negotiates terms of purchase with vendor. Develops and administers a program for vendor selection and relations. Responsible for supplier qualifications and standards of quality. Supervises negotiations and administration of purchasing contracts. Drives strategic purchasing for a specific commodity or item, and ensures implementation of a world class supplier base.
