**Job Summary**
Steel segment buyer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply of steel and steel-related materials required for manufacturing processes. Provides supply network solutions expertise for unformed steel category, using Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value.
**What You Will Do**
- Developing, managing and executing the unformed steel category strategy for Mexico managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
- Monitor global and local steel market trends, including pricing, demand, and supply chain dynamics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with steel suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
- Ensure steel procurement complies with Caterpillar policies and purchasing practices.
- Recognizing the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
- Acting as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate information explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.
**Education requirement**
Bachelor's degree in an area related to the field.

**Supplier Relationship Management**

- Coaches juniors on selecting, evaluating, and managing suppliers.
