This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment; Connection Systems business unit located in Cd Juarez Mexico.
**Summary (About this Position)**:
North America Category Buyer for Supply Chain Management in the metallic components. The category buyer is responsible to execute the global category strategy into the regional supply base by communicating, coordinating and implementing cost improvement projects. The category buyer is also responsible to manage the suppliers and provide support to the different areas.
**Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities)**:
- Review and Implement Strategies into Category Supply Base
- Analyze regional demands to implement long term cost improvement agreements.
- Asses, evaluate and suggest suppliers to be included into supply base.
- Evaluate and Implement Cost Improvement projects and analyze financial impacts.
- Work to meet objectives related to cost and cash flow improvement as: P2P savings, Payment Terms, Shipping Terms and on time sourcing.
- Coordinate and support business transferences as assigned preventing disruptions: Tool Moves, Optimization, Rotation, FTS Changes
- Facilitate communication between suppliers and various groups.
- Comply with policies and procedures: sourcing process, payment term deviation, etc., and ensure 0 non conformances in EOS audits
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis and present results to upper management
**Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves)**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Agent or similar role
- Proficient English
- Experience in terminal stamping supply base and manufacturing knowledge
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- Strong Negotiation skills to deal with contracts, proven experience on cost reduction ideas
- Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
- Proven knowledge on electronic/printed circuit boards market is a must
