**Job Summary:**
The position of Category Manager will develop multi-region/plant/SBU spend management strategies and supply base within assigned categories. Understand and monitor current market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges. Guide the selection, development, and management of strategic suppliers to meet cost and performance targets. Performs analyses on inventory programs, product lifecycle management, supplier resiliency, diversity, continuous improvement and GISC/engineering collaboration. Lead negotiations and completion of contracts to maximize benefits across the Trane Technologies enterprise.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for assuring strategy development, execution of procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
- Understand the market price or "Should Cost" price for assigned categories.
- Research new technologies and drive quarterly engineering roadmap reviews with key manufacturers to enhance existing product offerings and supplier resiliency solutions.
- Manage supply chain development activities including, leading or participating in supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness.
- Develop & implement multi-year category strategies with goals to increase spend with preferred manufacturers.
- Develop relationships and communication strategies with internal partners to identify business needs and align supply base to achieve strategic direction.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the sourcing process to ensure spend is awarded to provide the maximum value to Trane Technologies.
- Lead the development and negotiation of contracts through the contract lifecycle maximizing value while minimizing risk to Trane Technologies.
- Identify and Manage risk mitigation strategies in support of assigned categories.
**Qualifications**:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree - Business administration, supply chain, engineering, finance or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain.
- 5+ years in the electrical industry preferred.
- Sourcing experience in the development and management of a global supply base is required.
- Demonstrated success includes supplier development across regions, responsibility for high-level negotiations, leading/participating on multi-functional projects, and team development.
- Experience developing and implementing strategies across an enterprise.
- Strong project management experience.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, all functional areas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in developing standard processes and tools
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Experience managing and partnering with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
