**Category Manager - México & CariCam**
A category manager plays a vital role in the retail industry and helps manage product categories. Their primary responsibility is to oversee and optimize the performance of a specific product category within a company. Through detailed research and analysis of customer purchasing behaviors, they customize category offerings to meet customer demands. Developing and implementing strategic plans that align with market trends, customer demands and business objectives, analyze market data, consumer insights and competitor activities to make informed decisions regarding product selection, assortment, pricing, promotions and inventory management.
**Responsibilities**
- Analyse data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories.
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
- Foster trust relationships with vendors to improve category offerings and negotiate favorable terms.
- Assure captaincy gained in the most important retailers of the region.
- Win at least 1 captaincy per year in Latam as long as it benefits Flora FG.
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility based on Category Decision Tree
- Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.
- Ensure that the category grows based on Fcast done aside with the retailer.
- Maintain at least +3ppts SOS vs SOM for Flora FG in each of the retailers.
- At least parity vs LY in distribution scope in Flora's FG top skus.
- Make sure all the catman processes run in time and properly in each and all the Retailers with captaincy.
- Collaborate with various teams, like marketing, sales and product development, to identify and implement new products, services and marketing initiatives.
Experience
- Bachelor or Master´s in Business Administration and/or Marketing or similar.
- Experience of at least 8 years in catman for **FMCG companies.**:
- 2+ years of experience as Specialist in catman (not just analyst).
- Must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. Must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles.
