The Certification Engineer conducts testing and gathers all product info required for obtaining and maintaining NOM, Retilap and other product safety certifications applicable to Mexico and Latin America (Latam); interacts with Lab customers to identify testing and product certification needs and ensures all required deliverables are timely completed. Works with Sales and Marketing teams to provide the solutions our customers need. Identifies equipment needs for existing and new tests required to maintain and expand laboratory accreditations.Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Obtain and maintain the product safety certification of Acuity Brands products (60%)Develop test plans for product certification (20%)Support the maintenance and expansion of laboratory accreditation (10%)Review and approve Lab tests (5%)Perform tests (5%)Skills and Minimum Experience Required2+ years of working for Engineering Test Labs certified by a Certifying Body working under the umbrella of ISO 17025, for example: UL's CTDP (DAP), CSA's SMTC program, EMA's Accreditation Program, etc.Proficient level knowledge of NOM standards applicable to Lighting and Controls products.Proven experience certifying products to NOM, UL and CSA standards.Software proficiency: Medium-level with SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and other Windows applications.Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.Critical thinking.
