**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. CFD Analysis and Simulation**:
- Conduct detailed CFD simulations to analyze and optimize the performance of slurry pumps, focusing on fluid flow, pressure distribution, cavitation, and wear.
- Develop and validate CFD models that accurately represent the behavior of slurry mixtures under various operating conditions.
- Utilize advanced CFD techniques to predict and mitigate potential issues such as erosion, sedimentation, and clogging.
**2. Design and Modeling**:
- Create detailed 3D models of pump components and systems in SolidWorks, ensuring that designs are both functional and manufacturable.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to iterate on designs based on CFD analysis, improving performance and efficiency while minimizing production costs.
- Integrate CFD results with SolidWorks designs to develop innovative solutions that meet specific project requirements.
**3. Product Development**:
- Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to transition CFD-driven designs from the conceptual stage to full-scale production.
- Participate in prototype testing and validation, using CFD data to guide adjustments and improvements.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing process to ensure designs are accurately translated into final products.
**4. Research and Innovation**:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CFD capabilities, including the development of new methodologies and the integration of emerging technologies.
- Lead or participate in research initiatives aimed at advancing the state-of-the-art in slurry pump design and performance.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CFD analysis, with a focus on slurry pumps or similar fluid systems.
- Proficiency in CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar, with a proven track record of successful simulations and optimizations.
- Strong expertise in SolidWorks, including experience in modeling complex mechanical components and systems.
- Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, particularly in the context of slurry transport, multiphase flow, and particle-laden flows.
- Experience with the design and development of industrial equipment, preferably within the pump or dredging industry.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical findings to non-experts.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with erosion and wear prediction in CFD models.
- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and its integration with CFD.
- Previous experience in the design and optimization of heavy-duty industrial equipment.
