The chemist will be involved in product development and use their knowledge and clinical experience to work on new and existing formulations. They will create new opportunities to join food chemistry with our line of pest management products.
**Essential Functions**
- Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions,
- Conduct quality control tests.
- Take a concept to production, prototyping and developing production methods and parameters
- Prepare test solutions, compounds, or reagents.
- Induce changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, light, energy, or chemical catalysts for quantitative or qualitative analysis.
- Evaluate laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make improvements as needed.
- Write technical papers or reports or prepare standards and specifications for processes, products, or tests.
- Conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
- Purchase laboratory supplies, such as chemicals, when supplies are low or near their expiration date.
- Study effects of various methods of processing, preserving, or packaging on composition or properties of foods.
**Competencies**
- **Chemistry** — Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- **Production and Processing** — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- **Customer and Personal Service** — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
**Work Environment**
This position works in a manufacturing laboratory setting and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to chemicals in liquid, solid and powder forms. They may also be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud occasionally.
**Preferred Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, food chemistry or other related field.
- 5 - 10 years in Product Development, Production Support, Food Chemistry, Biological Chemistry or Pest Control
- Advanced level of English (speaking and writing)
- Valid visa to travel to USA will be required.
