Your success is our success.Job Summary:Requires the planning and plating of any part by the electroplating process using chromium, cadmium, copper, and zinc.
Performs all tasks related to the operation of ION Exchange Equipment and the addition of chemicals in conjunction with laboratory instructions.
Mathematically calculates the surface area to be plated per specification.
May be required to assist lower grade Operators.Job Responsibilities:Maintain chemical composition of solutions per specifications.Must correctly calculate the square-footage/inches of surface for plating requirements.Interpret specifications and blueprints for allowable tolerances and variations in process procedures.Assist in diagnosing and correcting causes of defective workmanship.Plans sequence of operations and controls the electroplating of parts in the solutions using electrical current, temperatures, and immersion times to obtain specified thickness and texture of plating.Assures all specifications for stress relief and embrittlement relief are adhered to.Recommends corrective action for plating issues that arise.Operate all ION exchange equipment to condition water to the required specifications.Perform other duties as required.Responsible only for own quality of work.Education:Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.Experience:Requires a minimum of 5 years aircraft manufacturing fabrication experience, including 2 years minimum experience in Chrome Plating.Working Conditions:Particularly disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to dangerous chemicals, fumes, and hot temperatures.
