.Serves in position for corporate responsibility and authority in electrical engineering. Leads electrical engineering discipline staff and is responsible for development, maintenance and enforcement of corporate standards and procedures for electrical engineering for all Business Units.**Responsibilities**:A. Application of Knowledge of Designb. Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of new developments, products, systems and methods for the discipline, serving as a central resource for technical information and creative/innovative ideas.C. Initiates and supervises development and maintenance of design standards, technical details, standard specifications, checklists and production procedures for the discipline. Reviews/enforces compliance with standards.D. Assures adequacy of in-house resource centers, libraries, publications, codes, standards, testing equipment and similar materials relating to the discipline.E. Reviews and selects discipline specific analysis and modeling software.**Design**- Establishes/maintains procedures for assuring design and construction quality standards. Is responsible for discipline quality assurance and assists quality control and quality assurance staff in areas of expertise.- Signs and seals documents when Business Unit registration is not available. In this capacity, provides design oversight as required by State engineering laws and rules.- Serves as discipline resource in the company "designing for safety" program.- Provides technical assistance during construction for problem solving when special expertise is needed.**Construction Support**- Receives information of post-construction performance of completed projects, including operating experience. Incorporates this information into discipline standards and procedures.- Provides technical assistance during construction for problem solving when special expertise is needed.**Project Management**- Develops and disseminates discipline information to discipline, other AE, construction and support unit staff to broaden their knowledge and understanding of discipline terminology, goals and activities.- Provides technical guidance and strategy assistance in development of design concepts (including proposals) and participates in strategic planning meetings when his expertise is requested. Assists discipline staff in development of appropriate estimates of staff hours and budgets.- Serves as discipline resource in designing for safety- Assists in the engagements of and interface with professional consultants and partnering arrangements with consultants, design-build subcontractors and vendors.**Profitability/ Planning/Scheduling**- Prepares design scope and man-hour estimates for new projects. Reviews progress and maintains profitable project margins.- Researches and updates project management team on critical permitting activities and impact to overall schedule
