As we embark on a new construction project in San Luis Potosí, we seek a skilled interpreter and construction specialist to ensure smooth communication and coordination between our HQ team in China and local contractors.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Interpretation & Translation**:
- Provide accurate, real-time translation between Chinese and Spanish for construction-related discussions, including meetings, site visits, and written documentation.
- Translate project specifications, regulatory requirements, and other essential documents between Chinese and Spanish.
- Ensure clear communication of technical construction terminology to avoid misinterpretation.
- **Permits & Compliance Support**:
- Assist the construction team with local permitting processes, helping to acquire necessary licenses, approvals, and inspections in Mexico.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local regulatory agencies and government bodies, ensuring that all compliance requirements are understood and met.
- **Project Coordination**:
- Act as a point of contact between the HQ team in China and local contractors, facilitating scheduling, site visits, and project planning meetings.
- Help ensure all safety protocols, local building codes, and project standards are clearly communicated and adhered to.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:
- Prepare and maintain records of all translated materials, permitting documentation, and communications.
- Provide regular reports to the project management team on progress, permitting status, and compliance updates.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Language Studies, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in interpreting and translating Chinese and Spanish in a construction or technical environment.
- Familiarity with construction terminology, local permitting processes, and regulatory compliance requirements in Mexico.
- Strong understanding of local government procedures for construction permits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a construction project environment in Mexico.
- Knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
