Job Summary: We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the automation of cloud infrastructure processes, reporting, and deployment of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions across AWS and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep understanding of cloud technologies and automation tools to streamline infrastructure management, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure reliable, scalable cloud services.
Key Responsibilities: Automation of Infrastructure Tasks:Design and implement automation solutions for routine cloud infrastructure tasks such as provisioning, scaling, and patching.Utilize tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS Systems Manager, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Ansible for automation.Create and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to automate the deployment and configuration of cloud resources.Automate the deployment of virtual machines, storage, and networking resources using IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.Ensure cloud services are deployed according to best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.Create and manage automated scaling solutions to ensure resources are efficiently allocated based on real-time demand.Reporting and Cloud Governance:Automate cloud infrastructure reporting, including cost, resource usage, and compliance reports, using native AWS (Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets) and Azure (Azure Cost Management, Azure Monitor) tools.Create custom dashboards for operational and performance metrics using tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, or Power BI.Develop and implement automated tagging strategies to ensure all AWS and Azure resources are tagged according to predefined policies for cost allocation, resource ownership, and environment tracking.Monitor and audit tags across AWS and Azure using AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, and Azure Policy, and implement workflows to automatically tag untagged resources.Automate the collection and management of cloud resource inventories across AWS and Azure environments using tools like AWS Config, AWS Resource Groups, Azure Resource Graph, and Azure Monitor.Develop scripts or automation workflows to regularly capture and report inventory data, ensuring that all cloud assets are tracked and managed efficiently.Create dashboards and reports for real-time visibility into cloud infrastructure resources and usage across multiple accounts and subscriptions.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for all automation scripts, workflows, and cloud deployments.Train internal teams on the use of automated tools, IaC, and best practices for cloud resource management.Key Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and IaaS deployments in AWS and Azure environments.Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.Skills:Strong expertise in automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Ansible.In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure IaaS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, Azure VMs, Storage Accounts, and VNets.Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI) for automating deployments.Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, governance, and cost management.Nice to Have: Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS, Azure AKS).Knowledge of multi-cloud strategies and automation.Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).Carrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
