This role will help to execute the cloud migration efforts globally, in partnership with additional team members. Each customer sector (geography) will have their own cloud migration initiative and we will have at least one person leading the Cloud Migration squad and executing the migrations as a part of the Migration Factory. As each geographical sector will have a "funnel" of applications that can move to the cloud hosted platforms, the Migration Factory will be responsible for scheduling and executing the various migrations. This requires a validation of the planned architecture in the cloud as well as the cost, potentially improving the currency of the versions for operating system, database, and application, as the systems are migrated to the cloud, and improving the security posture of the application. The migration team will also identify adherence to governance guidelines by ensuring that all applications migrated have a patch window defined in our system, as well as confirmed utilization 24x7 or potential opportunities for shutdown of systems when they are not in use. They will also validate any proposed re-architecture of applications as a part of migrations into cloud environments, i.e., PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS hosted in Microsoft Azure or AWS.Determine/confirm recommended hosting model to ensure the implementation of migrated solutions in the cloud will have a cost-effective support model and hosting model for all services.Review side by side comparisons of labor costs, hosting/hardware costs, software licenses, shared services costs, Operating System/database versions and patch levels, along with proposed migration method and any proposed re-architecture or optimization required to drive alignment across various teams for migrations and ensure the migrated system meets requirements.Execute migration recommendations to support the multiyear cloud transformation journey, which would include operationalizing the required technology in a hybrid multi-cloud environment.
