**Head ROU HBMX**:
**Role Purpose**
- Responsible of client relationships (MG) that do not meet with return targets or are not aligned to GBM's strategic priorities to support our capital management.
- Manage a c USD600m loan portfolio i) in diverse industries, ii) including complex real estate clients and iii) clients with deteriorated financial performance & weak credit risk ratings involving continuous and closely monitoring, debt restructures, security enhancements/perfection, etc.
- Proactively manage down exposures including medium to long dated facilities.
Loan sales in the secondary market to achieve 90% RWAs reduction.
- Coordinate Multis exits in HBMX and some in Canada and one client in Argentina with presence in more than 15 countries
- Manage sensitive client dialogue in a manner that continues to provide great client service and protect HSBC's reputation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Maintain adequate credit ratings, reserves, WWM classification, security enhancements/perfection, terms and conditions &covenants of the c D600m loan portfolio.
- Negotiate, approve, execute debt restructures of distressed loan portfolio & amendments.
- Coordinate loan sales with loan syndications and internal areas (tax, accounting, finance, compliance, etc) to achieve RWAs reduction.
- Asset management of real estate clients (Industrial, Retail & Office)
- Execution of global client exit plans by the off-boarding of products and services working closely with product teams and clients.
- Support the achievement against targets of RWA reductions, RoRWA and # of exited products, countries and clients.
Requirements
Major Challenges
- Clients within a challenging industry affected by COVID (i.e.
Gyms, Restaurants, Travel, Airlines, Construction) which require closely monitoring of their financial performance and debt restructures/refinancing.
- Managing relationship with clients while off boarding products and services and executing loan asset sales.
Knowledge and Experience
- At least 10 years of relationship/credit management experience in the banking sector
- Commercial and negotiation skills
- Highly developed communication skills for use in direct client contact and problem solving
- Ability to provide strong financial and statistical analysis.
- Strong customer service focus
- Attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems
- Excellent understanding of financial markets and products
- Team leader
- Fluent in English speaking and writing
