.Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a CoE Customs Classification Analyst.What you'll do:Job summaryThe Global Trade Management (GTM) Center of Excellence (CoE) Classification Analyst is responsible for customs HTS code determination for finished goods, components, machinery, and equipment based on robust and thorough technical analysis of the materials.This position requires a professional with experience in U.S., Mexican, and Canadian Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), as well as good technical product understanding to ensure that import and export trade transactions operate smoothly observing customs regulations. The person in this role must be knowledgeable in international trade laws and regulations.GTM CoE Classification Analyst must maintain and update compliance documents to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures. The GTM CoE Classification Analyst reports to the GTM CoE Classification Supervisor.Job responsibilitiesExecute HTS determination ensuring all necessary documentation and technical support is retained to fully comply with the applicable rules.Ability to understand and fully explain the general rules of interpretation, detailing the reason a specific HTS code was determined.Perform classification determination in alignment with the current Service Level Agreement (SLA), responding on time and maintaining regular communication with stakeholders.Prepare all documentation needed to assist with Pre and Post Entry activities such as CF28, CF29, when mismatches or clarification on interpretation is requested by authorities.Lead mismatches and technical discussions with vendors, brokers, or suppliers when required.Identify situations and events when escalation is necessary.Conduct projects and meetings with GTM team members and stakeholders in order to review project progress.Ability to provide advisory to businesses when needed.Qualifications:Education level requiredBachelor's degree required.Years and area of experience requiredAt least two years in classification experience.Technical knowledgeProficiency in customs classification skills and solid knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).Proficiency in US and Mexican customs regulations as well as other government agency regulations.Knowledgeable in U.S. and Mexican Government Import Regulations, including HTS classification rules and valuation laws.Microsoft Soft skills required.English and SAP-GTS proficiency desirable.Soft skillsTeam player, able to work in a close team setting.Excellent organization skills.Exceptional analytical skills.Able to work within tight time constraints.Effective communication skills.Decision making.We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees
