About the roleThe Collections Manager is in charge of collecting delinquent portfolio prior to charge off (151 days past due). It is responsible for achieving KPIs and within its team to conduct a proper management of the collection vendors, such as LAO SC, outside collection agencies and law firms. The Collections Manager, within its scope of action, must monitor delinquency behavior and propose collection strategies accordingly to ensure agile recovery and the containment of accounts rolling to salvage as much as possible.
What you needBachelor's Degree in Administration, Business, Engineering or related fields. Master's degree in administration or post-graduate studies are a plus.3+ years of experience working in Collections, Credit or related areas.High level of experience managing and dealing with external vendors.Leadership experience managing teams (3+ years).Proficient English Skills, both verbal & written.Strong influencing and negotiation skills.First class communication skills at all levels, including active listening.Analytical skills to assess performance of the operations, ability to minimize risk and solve problems.Pursues assignments with creativity, energy and drive.Ability to quickly find common ground and solve problems, including dealing with ambiguity.Ability to embrace change and to adapt to organizational challenges.Teamwork and collaboration.Organizational and time management skills.What you will be doingEnsure compliance with collection objectives in early stages (before 151 days past due) through vendor monitoring, definition of strategies and campaigns, as well as monitoring and analyzing of results.Adherence to company policies, area processes, as well as regulations related to collection practices.Anticipation of portfolio behaviors, data quality, and any trend that could provide early feedback to other areas of the company.Assure adequate management of outsourced service providers, including LAO SC, Outside Collection Agencies, Law Firms etc.Effectiveness in communicating strategies, defining goals, monitoring collection efforts, and proper control in payment agreements, repossessions, etc.Manage staff: Active participation leading the team members, providing training, creating work schedules and maximizing their capabilities, guiding them to achieve and exceed the objectives of the area.Develop strong succession plans for the team, ensuring internal continuity.Promote strong relationships, business growth and productivity enhancements whilst maximizing service standards and recoveries for the company.Ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations & internal controls and guidelines (Policies and BPMS processes) that may govern the business.What we offerAt GM Financial we want you to be the most authentic version of yourself.
