Colour Management Specialist

Job Title: Colour Management Specialist Location: Tijuana, Mexico Overview of Role: The Colour Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring consistent and accurate colour reproduction across all digital equipment, including printers, monitors, scanners, and other imaging devices.
This role involves working closely with production, R&D, Quality, NPI and other teams to develop and implement colour management workflows, calibrate devices, and troubleshoot colour-related issues.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of colour theory, digital imaging technologies, and the ability to work with various colour management software and hardware.
Key Responsibilities: Colour Calibration and Profiling: Calibrate monitors, printers, and other digital devices to ensure colour accuracy and consistency.
Create and maintain ICC profiles for various devices and media types.
Perform regular checks and recalibrations as needed to maintain colour standards.
Workflow Development: Develop, implement, and maintain colour management workflows across different platforms and devices.
Work with design and production teams to ensure colour accuracy from design through to final output.
Collaborate with IT and technical teams to integrate colour management solutions into existing systems.
Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve colour discrepancies and other related issues in digital outputs.
Provide technical support and training to staff on colour management best practices.
Work with vendors and service providers to resolve advanced colour management issues.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on printed materials and digital outputs to ensure they meet specified colour standards.
Implement colour quality control processes to maintain consistency across all outputs.
Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in colour management technology.
Documentation and Reporting: Document colour management processes, calibration settings, and troubleshooting steps.
Report on the effectiveness of colour management practices and suggest improvements.
Maintain accurate records of calibration schedules, profiles, and related activities.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Imaging, Printing Technology, or a related field (preferred Experience: 3-5 years of experience in colour management, digital imaging, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with colour management software (., X-Rite, CalMAN, Adobe Color).
Experience in a production environment, preferably within print or digital media.
Skills: Strong understanding of colour theory and its application in digital environments.
Proficiency in using and calibrating digital imaging devices.
Familiarity with ICC profiles and colour standards (., sRGB, Adobe RGB, CMYK).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Good communication skills for training and documentation purposes.
