A Snapshot of Your Day: The major activities include tuning, troubleshooting, and commissioning of large gas turbines, as well as implementing improvements and logic changes in the control system.
The position requires 80%+ travel to power plant sites internationally.
You will attend site meetings with customers to review scope, advance, and unit start-up schedule and issues.
How You'll Make an Impact: Primary contact for customers regarding the maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of large gas turbines. Possess a comprehensive knowledge of combustion theory and combustion dynamics in Siemens Energy large gas turbines. Able to perform combustion tuning on Siemens-Energy SGT6-5000F, SGT6-6000G, SGT6-8000H frame gas turbines, including tuning procedures and countermeasures for pressure fluctuations. Work closely with the Siemens Energy project team from planning to completion of service projects, providing start-up commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting support for equipment failures, determining root causes, and implementing solutions. Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning the condition, repairs, and recommendations for customer equipment. Lead and supervise a team of I&C technicians to implement the scope when required. Implement scope according to Siemens Energy field service procedures and ensure compliance with protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality). What You Bring: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience as a field service commissioning and combustion tuning engineer. Technical knowledge of troubleshooting, combustion tuning, and commissioning of large gas turbines. Strong teamwork, results-oriented, risk management, adaptability, and flexibility in a dynamic environment. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and ability to learn others as needed). Willingness for 80% domestic and international travel. Working proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
