Job DescriptionThe Commercial Contracts Attorney will join a world-class legal department and devote time to a wide variety of labour and employment legal matters, primarily in the Asia Pacific and MAIR regions.Primary responsibilities include:Supporting and advising business teams, including executives, managers, employee relations, information services, and operations regarding compliance with existing and forthcoming labor and employment laws and regulations.Advising on issues such as discipline, non-competition, redundancies, leave, disability, contingent workers, equity, contractor management, occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination, wage and hour, and union/labor relationsDrafting service provider, commission, non-compete, handbooks and policies, employment, and settlement agreementsConducting internal investigationsManaging litigation, outside counsel, and budgetsTravel: Expected 5% to 15%; Valid passport/authorized to travel internationallyQualificationsJuris Doctorate, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree in LawsLicensed/authorized to practice law in Mexico or any jurisdiction within The Americas and in good standingAt least 5 years of experience in a top law firm preferredIn-house experience working in the law department of a Fortune 500 company highly desirable, but not requiredStrong knowledge of, and practical experience advising on labor and employment laws and regulationsPractical experience working with trade unions preferredThe ability to identify, analyze, assess, and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients to make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracyExcellent business judgment and ability to work independentlyFluent oral and written English required.
