What's exciting about the roleVerifone is looking for a strong, project-oriented, self-starter to support commercial operations of its Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) division on a hybrid schedule.This role would be ideal for a lawyer who would like to join a fast-paced, highly collegiate environment and make a difference providing practical and proactive legal guidance to business partners in a dynamic industry.Reporting to the Head of Latin America Legal, you would be responsible for supporting a broad range of commercial work requirements, including drafting, structuring, and negotiating commercial agreements for traditional hardware sales, software licensing, and services offerings, in addition to providing support on procurement, IT, outsourcing, litigation, employment, compliance, and other legal issues as they arise. ResponsibilitiesPerform transactional legal work for LAC division of Verifone, including contract drafting, negotiation, and execution.Support and advise business team on legal risks, interpretation of contracts, business strategies, and other issues related to commercial transactions and operations.Assist with the establishment of standards, procedures and protocols based on best practices.Drive business deals to completion by monitoring resolution and closure of issues.Supervise and coordinate the activities of outside legal counsel as needed.Support other corporate, commercial, legal and compliance projects as needed.Skills and experience we desireActive bar membership.At least 4-7 years' experience in the practice of law, with a focus on transactional corporate and commercial matters.Native or business-fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese a plus
