.The Commodity Manager for Castings will be responsible for developing and executing global procurement strategies for cast components for the compression business. This role requires managing supplier relationships and advanced negotiation tactics to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of critical cast products. The Commodity Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, quality, operational procurement, and cost value engineering among others—while leading efforts to identify, qualify, and manage a global network of casting suppliers. This position plays a key role in driving Siemens Energy's commitment to operational excellence, cost savings, and continuous improvement in the castings commodity.How You'll Make an ImpactLead the development and implementation of global strategies for castings procurement, focusing on cost savings, improved lead times, and enhanced product quality.Drive the identification, qualification, and management of casting suppliers globally. Work closely with suppliers to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase capacity and reliability.Cost Management: Develop and deploy cost models for castings, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting of financial performance in alignment with business targets.Risk Management: Analyze and manage risks associated with the casting supply chain, including capacity constraints, quality issues, and geopolitical risks. Develop contingency plans and ensure supplier diversification. Work with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Finance, to resolve technical and commercial challenges related to casting procurement.Market Analysis: Stay informed of global market trends, including commodity price fluctuations, technological advancements in casting methods, and regulatory changes that impact the casting supply base.Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers to optimize quality, lead times, and cost efficiency for castings.What You BringUniversity Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.Professional Experience (minimum 4 years) in at least one of the fields: Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, Strategy Consulting, Project Management, Engineering.Strong track record in negotiating complex contracts and implementing global procurement strategies, with specific experience in managing suppliers of castings and/or related mechanical components.Experience managing supplier relationships across multiple geographies, especially in emerging markets such as India, China, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of time.Advanced Business English is mandatory, German is desired at a professional working proficiency level.About the TeamIn the department Direct Material, we drive the pooling activities across all of Siemens Energy
