If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.As a Commodity Manager- Electronics for Leggett & Platt, Incorporated Adjustable Bed Group, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining commodity strategies that support the company's business objectives. You will evaluate and recommend vendors to the business unit while managing the ongoing relationship with key suppliers. The Commodity Manager will assist the electronics commodity both full systems as well as components.**So, what will you be doing as a Commodity Manager?**- Work independently between internal functional groups and external suppliers.- Rationalize the supplier base through the solicitation of competitive bids. Put together competitive RFQ's, analyze received quotations, select or recommend new suppliers.- Conduct analyses of market conditions and trends and use this information to predict commodity pricing and availability.- Research potential vendors and compare their products, prices, and services.- Develop and implement commodity strategies to create an efficient supply chain and reduce commodity purchase costs.- Able to discuss and agree to the contract terms with suppliers. Ensure the correct terms of business references are used on orders.- Analyse the effect that sourcing and supply decisions have on total business costs (internal and the supply chain). Ability to evaluate different supply route options e.G. from single part to build package to determine optimum cost route using appropriate evaluation tools. transactions- Analyse and implement innovative supply opportunities that deliver best total cost position - part, freight, cost of quality, and inventory- Can effectively negotiate in all situations - with internal customers and suppliers, creating win/win situations.- Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues- Provide goods & services projections to key suppliers to ensure product availability.- Coordinate the exchange of technical information regarding product and product processing with adequate safeguards and confidentiality.- Participation on cross functional teams to address and resolve problems.- Support goals and objectives as established by business unit management
