This position will be responsible for driving the identification and execution of category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives through their assigned categories of Americas capex equipment related spend across all major manufacturing sites. Key to this role will be developing relationships with plant leaders and stakeholders to understand what projects are in the pipeline and ensure procurement and contracting best practices are being applied.**RESPONSIBILITIES**- Establishing, leading, and supporting cross functional category teams to develop and maintain Category Strategies within their assigned regional Indirect categories.- Is responsible for long term planning, strategy development, and support continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.- Develops and implements sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for global indirect procurement categories.- Directs cross-functional teams using analysis of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business.- Establishes total landed cost model and/or Total Cost of Ownership Model for the category, in alignment with stakeholders.- Demonstrates improvement in cost, cash flow, quality and risk related to assigned categories of Indirect spend- Supports dotted line / matrixed global Indirect Procurement associates when collaboration is required.- Provides leadership to key stakeholders throughout the company and builds relationships that facilitate the realization of delivering strategic and financial value.- Manages the preferred supplier program with a "plan for every partner" to ensure business continuity, performance and best price.- The Indirect Americas Category Manager will manage their assigned Indirect Categories as an owner. This will involve working closely with value stream partners to improve performance and cost. Done well, this work will reduce the friction felt by customers and make Vertiv "easier to do business with".**QUALIFICATIONS****Minimum Job Qualifications**:- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.- Experience sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for Indirect services preferred- Experience leading Indirect cost reduction or continuous improvement projects preferred- English language skills required**Preferred Qualifications**:- Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain/operations.- Experience with capex equipment related spend within a manufacturing environment.- CPSM, CLTD, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent certification(s)**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS**- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**- No Special Physical Requirements**ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS**- N/A**TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED**- 10%
