In this role, the Commodity Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing supplier development, procurement strategies, and cost-saving initiatives to support business objectives.
Identify and develop suppliers with the capacity to meet production needs, ensuring alignment with purchasing goals.
Lead efforts to achieve cost reductions, working with suppliers to meet annual savings targets.
Collaborate with ECM (Commodity Enterprice Manager) and regional teams to develop supplier strategies that improve component quality and performance.
Track raw material costs and market trends to negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers.
Manage supplier issues related to raw material shortages, ensuring timely resolution to avoid production delays.
Work closely with VEM to optimise material costs through strategic supplier decisions and material reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GSM policies and company procedures to mitigate risks and maintain smooth operations.
Adhere to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, ensuring compliance in all procurement activities.
Support customer needs by addressing urgent business issues, including credit and delivery problems, to prevent operational disruptions.
Lead strategies to meet purchasing expectations and manage suppliers.Coordinate procurement, material flow and supplier management The ideal candidate for this position is a proactive problem-solver with expertise in supplier management, cost accounting, and automotive procurement.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Over 5 years of experience in procurement, cost management, and supplier negotiations within the automotive industry.
Advanced knowledge of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, MSA), IATF 16949 standards, and customer-specific requirements (FCA, Ford, GM desirable).
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships and resolve conflicts.
Proficient in cost accounting, legal contract management, and negotiation techniques, with a focus on delivering results and ensuring quality.
High level of integrity, customer focus, and continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for achieving perfect quality.
Advanced skills in Excel and experience with QAD software, with the ability to handle complex data analysis and project management.
