Overview:
The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in handling HireRight's compliance affairs and supporting a variety of teams across the business. They audit and report on compliance aspects of our business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct detailed activities to assess our own compliance with applicable law
- Conduct detailed activities to assess the reliability of reports from our operating groups on our own compliance with applicable law
- Conduct detailed activities to assess our customers' compliance with applicable law
- Conduct detailed activities to assess the reliability of reports from our operating group on our customers' compliance with applicable law
- Assist with privacy and compliance assessments required by customers and data sources
- Report on these activities
- Assist projects to mitigate identified compliance weaknesses
- Other duties as assigned by General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, Vice President of Compliance, or Compliance Manager
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or an equivalent showing of basic skills
- Experience showing interest in law, compliance, human resources, or the equivalent
- Experience showing interest in privacy or consumer-reporting laws
- Curious
- Comfortable in asking questions and questioning assumptions
- Superb in spotting issues
- Creative in solving issues
- Persuasive in generating consensus
- Clear in written and oral communications
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and at least two of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Working independently with little oversight or direction
- Multi-tasking continuously
- Placing practical impact over theory or perfection
- Collaborating with others inside and outside of the law department
- Working with people at different levels of the organization
- Communicating professionally and cordially with customers, vendors, and data sources
- Communicate in fluent English
- Use a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate by telephone
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality
