We are seeking a skilled Senior Direct Materials Buyer to join our Monterrey team and play a key role in the strategic procurement of materials essential for our battery manufacturing processes.Job Overview: The Senior Direct Materials Buyer will be responsible for the procurement and management of direct materials used in our battery production. This role involves executing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and optimizing procurement processes to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials.Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:- Manage the procurement process for direct materials, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from vendors and suppliers.- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with Clarios' objectives, ensuring material quality and cost-effectiveness.- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best value and quality for Clarios.- Supplier and Performance Management:- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support.- Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contracts and timely delivery of materials.- Identify and address any issues related to supplier performance or material quality.- Contract and Documentation Management:- Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and related documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness.- Ensure contracts and procurement documents are processed and executed efficiently.- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to procurement activities.- Compliance and Continuous Improvement:- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards in all procurement activities.- Analyze procurement performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field, with a focus on direct materials, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sectors.- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proven track record in procurement.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.- Basic knowledge of Direct Materials' quality approval processes, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Part Submission Warrant (PSW), and other relevant quality standards.- Experience with ISO9000, ISO14000, and IATF quality management programs
