The Configuration Manager is responsible for execution of day-to-day duties relative to the configuration management functions of a world-class product design and development team to achieve engineering operational excellence. This role is responsible for:
- Setting up configuration management plan and configuration management tools for all engineering disciplines.
- Conducting configuration assessment audits to ensure the project team follows the configuration management plan.
- Maintaining and updating project documents, performing work product audits as per configuration management plan.
- Overseeing the daily management of configuration items and report configuration status data.
- Supporting project team on configuration management processes and tools to ensure all engineering disciplines follow the configuration management plan.
- Monitoring project KPIs and propose process improvements on the configuration management process.
- Performing configuration management using modern practices and tools.
- Identifying and evaluating evaluates project-related configuration management risks ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are taken and a contingency plan is in place.
- Generate configuration management plans and audit projects following company engineering configuration management processes, standards, and industry guidelines
- Plan and execute project configuration management during program lifecycle. Identify, propose and plan configuration management opportunities.
- Study and analyze audit results to develop improvement recommendations and provide facilitation sessions on configuration management process for the engineering teams.
- Update timing plan, configuration management project reports, tools mapping and configurations, and establish process maps
- Propose and analyze SMART KPIs using audit project data.
- Audit and collect defect data and analyze for improvement opportunities.
- Participate in project specific development activities to monitor implementation of process improvements, action plans and solutions
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
- 5+ years experience in automotive product development.
- 4+ years in engineering configuration management role.
- Highly experienced with requirements management and configuration management tools (DOORS, PTC, JIRA, SVN, SharePoint, Rhapsody, Enterprise, GitHub).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of software development lifecycle.
- High level knowledge of ASPICE/CMMI.
- Mid level knowledge of IATF ISO 16949.
- At least two full automotive product development lifecycle projects from concept to production launch.
- Mechanical and hardware development design knowledge preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail capability. Ability to perform complex tasks with mínimal supervision and guidance.
