Consulting Gas Turbine Heat Transfer Engineer

The Heat Transfer Applications Group provides preliminary and detailed definition, analysis and experimental validation of turbine cooling systems, including design and analysis of secondary flow circuits, turbine disks, turbine diaphragms, and cooled airfoils. Other areas of responsibility include overall engine thermal management and transient thermal displacement analysis. This includes seal and rotor tip behavior, development of advanced cooling techniques, and design methods. The Heat Transfer engineer applies in-depth technical expertise to the design/analysis of existing and new/uprated turbine cooling systems.With are Open to remote work for any part in Mexico countryor physically Work in the facilities on Tijuana BC Mexico,Relocation to Tijuana BC area is included.Propose, promote, and act on his/her own initiatives and ideasBe highly engaged in team discussions and brainstorming activitiesWork effectively in inter/intra-disciplinary team settingsMinimum Qualifications:Advanced degree with emphasis in thermal/fluid systemsThorough knowledge of advanced heat transfer design and experimental techniquesFamiliarity with turbine secondary flow design and 1D analysisWillingness to multitask and handle complicated and challenging tasks efficientlyAbility to clearly communicate verbally and in writing; and bring his/her assigned tasks to clear and concise closure8+ years experience with a leading gas turbine OEM or equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience working in multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and support production and development test requirements under rigorous deadlinesExperience with engine qualification testing, including pressure and temperature measurementsExperience mentoring others and developing design practicesDemonstrated ability to validate analytical models (steady-state and transient 2D/3D thermal FEA, CFD) with experimental test dataExperience with the following software tools is highly desirable:ANSYS Mechanical APDL, Workbench, or equivalentCFD Applications: CFX or Star CCM+1-D flow network simulation toolsProcess automation using Python, VBA or equivalentWith are Open to remote work for any part in Mexico countryor physically Work in the facilities on Tijuana BC Mexico,Relocation to Tijuana BC area is included.This employer is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.
