Hridaya Yoga's Content Editor supports our mission by ensuring our communications are professional, engaging, and aligned with the teachings of the Spiritual Heart. They have a deep love for and understanding of the non-dual teachings and a passion for the written word, recognizing its power to touch hearts. Though in a paid position, the Content Editor performs their job in the spirit of Karma Yoga , selfless service for the benefit of others.
JOB SUMMARY: The Content Editor reports to the Marketing Manager and reviews and edits all written materials created by our content team, including blog posts, website copy, newsletter text, advertising materials, graphics text, and more. The Content Editor works mindfully, efficiently, and at a consistently high standard to help us share everything that Hridaya Yoga offers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviewing all written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, format, and alignment with the Hridaya teachings. Maintaining and updating the Hridaya Yoga Content Guidelines and ensuring their consistent application in all external and relevant internal communications. Training the content team in our guidelines and their application to ensure a consistent voice. Liaising with Spanish and French translators to ensure our content standards are met in all three languages. Working with our webmaster and media agency to ensure that our SEO strategy is properly applied in all online communications. Completing all tasks on time to support organizational flow and stability. DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES: Editing text for all social media posts, newsletters, ad campaigns, posters, webpages, blogs, captions, and other purposes. Reviewing briefs for new courses, shaping text provided by the Program Department and workshop presenters into copy for web pages and print collateral that communicates key program aspects in an engaging and effective way, and including teachers in the review process as needed to ensure consistency of vision. Format proofing and providing final content approval for all posters and graphics. Collaborating with other members of the Communications Team to ensure deadlines are aligned and projects are completed in a harmonious way; tracking progress using adopted project management tools. Other tasks as required by changing organizational needs. QUALIFICATIONS: Meditation and yoga practitioner with Hridaya Yoga experience (required) Related education and at least one year of professional experience in an editing role Proficiency in Spanish and/or French (highly desirable) Aspiration for excellence and keen attention to detail (required) Knowledge of best practices for Search Engine Optimization (highly desirable) Ability to make a 6-month minimum commitment Active listening skills, the ability to ask the right questions to understand the needs of Hridaya Yoga, and the willingness to ensure that written content aligns with these requirements Proven ability to: Transform creative text into professional, grammatically correct content while maintaining its essence Work independently as well as in a team Think critically, solve problems, and suggest creative solutions Work in a structured yet flexible manner Accurately estimate the time and resources required to complete projects, sticking closely to these predictions Manage a variety of tasks and coordinate multiple projects Strong organizational skills Humility, maturity, discernment Openness to receiving ongoing constructive feedback Willingness to balance personal opinions with efficiency and selfless service, surrendering the attachment to outcomes and preferences A spirit of service, the ability to step up and perform whatever task is necessary for the good of the whole The ability to work effectively, flexibly, and lovingly in collaboration with diverse groups of people The ability to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure The ability to differentiate between supporting the work of Hridaya Yoga and personal objectives Aspiration, a commitment to spiritual transformation WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS: This position is part-time, work-from-home, with flexible hours based on project workflow. The Content Editor can generally make their own schedule, as long as project deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is open to adjusting their weekly schedule as needed during periods of increased activity.
