**Job purpose**
Under direction of the Plant Manager, working with the Senior Management Team, develop, set the pace and implement business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, culture, people and processes. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives by developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Identify and create plans of action to improve efficiency in business processes using Lean tools and strategies
- Define, develop, and lead a robust continuous improvement strategy designed to improve SQDC performance and eliminate waste
- Ensure relevant on-going learning and development of all employees in lean improvement tools and communication methods
- Works with event sponsors/teams to develop measurable characteristics to improve a target/goal define how to measure and at what interval and provide the follow-up support through completion and audit long term sustainment
- Develop and build a culture of engagement at all levels of the business to provide a highly energized team which is flexible to meet the changing needs of the business
- Provide project management, analytical and research skills and expertise
- Report on progress of Kaizen activities
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
- Support and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Foster, guide, and improve safety culture within the company with new hire onboarding and continuous safety training.
- Coordinate, lead, and document regular safety meetings.
- Lead and document accident/incident investigations to determine root cause, prevention, and corrective measures.
- Maintain and audit all areas where the company must be OSHA compliant. These include, but are not limited to: SDS/HazCom, Lockout Tagout, Lead Testing, and recurrent training requirements for employees.
- Maintain and audit safety trainings and emergency plans, policy, and procedures.
- Research and understand new and existing OSHA regulations and decipher the impact they have on Company business and its employees.
- Attend training to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
