**Position Summary**:Leads the implementation of lean principles throughout the organization.
Works with management, customers, suppliers, and others to identify and facilitate key projects that will improve quality, reduce costs, improve cycle time, and provide the optimum benefits to customers and the business through waste reduction.
Trains production teams in lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Takt Time Analysis, and Kaizen.
Manages project activities including communication, project timeline, meeting facilitation, data gathering, data processing utilizing lean tools, and solution implementation and follow-up.
**Duties**:Hands on execution of Lean transformation projects.Delivers Problem Solving and Lean Manufacturing training.Facilitate Kaizen events.
Participates in and coordinates the development of event Charters and scheduling of the events.
Works with departmental management to assure appropriate participation and support.Plans, re-designs and organizes manufacturing facilities and production cells.Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Technical expert in Lean tools and principles including set-up reduction, standardized work, value stream mapping, A3 thinking.Perform cost/benefit analyses.Presents, facilitates and leads assigned process improvement events using Continuos Improvement methodsSeeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean Enterprise information,materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management, and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement events.Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits.- Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements- Develops reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.- Assess manufacturing work flows and management systems.
Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction.- Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement
