We are seeking a motivated and experienced **Contract Transportation** Representative** to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be crucial in securing competitive transportation costs, adhering to ALS's procurement processes, providing top-tier cost/service options, and cultivating strong carrier relationships. **Responsibilities**:
Carrier Procurement and Appointments:
- Identify and procure carriers to meet business needs, ensuring appointments are made efficiently to align with shipment schedules.
Procure Costs for ALS Contract Transportation Opportunities:
- Source and negotiate competitive rates from carriers for all ALS Contract Transportation opportunities to ensure optimal profitability.
Follow the Contract Transportation Procurement Process:
- Adhere to manage the contract transportation procurement process, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry standards.
Provide Best Cost / Service Options for Opportunities:
- Analyze and present the most effective cost and service options for all transportation opportunities, balancing service levels with cost efficiency.
Stratify and Build Relationships with Carriers
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with carriers to ensure reliable service and foster long-term partnerships to meet business goals.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in Carrier Sales
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation industry regulations and standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
