BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Control Engineer at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico. In this role, and under the direct supervision of the Control & Tester Supervisor, the Control Engineer will develop, support, and optimize the control equipment in the existing manufacturing and testing processes, as well as in new projects, with the goal of fulfilling the organizational objectives and proposing improvements for the processes and equipment applied.
Key Accountabilities:
Programming of manufacturing equipment (PLC, HMI, vision systems, screwdriving systems, robots, scanners, servo motors, etc.)
Optimization of manufacturing equipment sequences, algorithms, and programs.
Installation, commissioning, and SOP of new equipment, tooling, and devices.
Development, integration, and installation of workstations under BorgWarner standard.
Management of SCADA system for data management and collection for manufacturing processes.
Manage the software needed for control equipment.
Manage an adequate backup of the programs on the control equipment.
Coordinate with the Manufacturing Engineering area actions for the optimization of control and safety systems.
Participate in both corrective and preventive actions in the maintenance area.
Statistical study and analysis of production lines to detect failures and reflect improvement results.
Updating control systems in production equipment.
Verify compliance with the different steps of the production processes defined through the systems logic.
Maintain current control equipment.
Contact with suppliers for the selection of devices and services.
Qualifications:
Education: Electronics Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Instrumentation or related career.
Length of experience: 2 years or more in a similar position.
Technical knowledge required: Manufacturing Process, Quality Systems, Automation, Industrial Electronics, Basic Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Statistical Process Control.
Software: TIA Portal, RS Logix 5000, Visual Basic, Tools Talk, BS350, Factory Talk View, In-Sight, LabView.
Other requirements: Microsoft Office.
