**Description**

This position assist on tracks, manages and determines availability of Train and Engine employees. It identifies and notifies Medical Management of potential medical leave requirements or other qualifying events. This role ensures coordination of employee status information into the appropriate software system. It works as liaison with Human Resources Department on policies and procedures to include medical leaves and other federal or state legislation. This position works to continuously improve crew resources processes and ensure transportation support.

Works to assit on a variety of issues where analysis requires evaluation of multiple factors, including business objectives and trends. Adapts plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges within a functional area; defines department's operating standards. Translates the business unit's vision into plans and guides execution. Plans and prioritizes work to meet department commitments aligned with company goals and financial responsibilities.

Assist to manages the progress toward stated goals and execution of corporate policy. Manages professional teams comprised of individual contributors and/or supervisors. Participates in the interview and selection process, provides training and mentorship, offers career development guidance, and is engaged in performance management. Provides timely and constructive coaching and feedback; develops staff and provides challenging opportunities. Reports to a people leader at a higher career level.

**Accountabilities**
- Directs day-to-day management of Crew Resources positions and operations.
- Maintains the CCM (Crew Calling System) system and resolves any conflicts related to crew activities.
- Provides daily data and reports to management regarding the availability of crews.
- Assist to responds to inquiries and requests from local labor organizations.
- Creates and submits status changes in the SAP system to ensure correct employee information for payroll and benefit processing for T&E employees.
- Gathers and processes information/data for morning reports for Company leadership.
- Manages the call processes within CCM.
- Communicates with crews that want to lay off for medical (and other) reasons.
- Helps to establish and document standard operating processes.
- Monitors and reports overtime for T&E employees.
- Works to continuously improve the crew office processes and ensure transportation support.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis and special projects or other duties as necessary.
- Partners with IT to develop online forms and design system enhancements.
- Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

**Required**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing projects or programs with outcome focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience directly or indirectly leading a team
- Bilingual
- Dedicated to continuous improvement
- Excel proficient

**Preferred**
- 3 years experience in supervision. KCSR crew management experience EWM or automated dispatching system experience Railroad transportation industry experience

**Working Conditions**
- Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
- On-call responsibilities are an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support operations of critically important systems and/or processes 24 hours per day/7 days per week. On-call assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
- This position may require mínimal travel up to 10% of the time.
