We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a Controlling & Statutory Manager supporting the FRA Operations Team, you will provide high-quality services, performing daily accounting activities.
The role applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
Responsible for accounting requirements for assigned areas to be completed timely and accurately.In this role, a typical day will include: Lead Controllership and Statutory activities, ensuring that the activities are aligned to Alcon's global policies and follow local laws as well as international standards.The role will lead the transfer price review from the forecast perspective to address the accomplishment of local tax law avoiding tax adjustments.
Also, the role will work with the tax advisor to prepare the Transfer price local requirements in for the LATAM country(es) re-quired.The role will be responsible for the statutory accounting books driving the differences between the reporting GAAP (IFRS) and the Local Country GAAP.The role will lead the local advisory team to prepare the specific statutory reporting applicable to the LATAM country(es), such as Financial Statements, and any other report related to the statutory accountingEnsure an effective internal control environment based on Global policies.Ensure consolidation of Alcon Culture across the team.Engage, motivate, and develop associated, creation of team spaces for feedback and development.Manage assigned staff in a consistent manner with policies and values.Be a strategic partner for the business.Promote X-functional collaboration.Support a better work-life balance.The role will lead the local advisory team to prepare the specific statutory reporting applicable to the LATAM country(es), such as Financial Statements, and any other report related to the statutory accounting.ComplianceEnsure all processes, policies and procedures, fully documented.Ensure compliance with Alcon Manual Accounting (IFRS), Alcon Financial Controls Manual (Compliance Check List) and regulatory requirementsEnsure application of agreed Alcon control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certificationPeople ManagementActively support Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) Ops working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and BehaviorsAct service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and contribute to derive to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture.WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON: An undergraduate degree in accounting and/or Finance required.
Master's or Advanced degree in accounting and/or Finance preferred.
CPA/Chartered Accountant preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Strong analytical skills.The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.10+ years of accounting experience – public and industry preferredAbility to apply accounting practices.
Good analytical skills.
